MLB Should Ban the Dormancy Fee on Stadium-Issued Cashless Debit Cards
Every ballpark that has gone cashless β including Fenway Park β forces cash-only fans to convert their money to a venue-issued debit card, then quietly charges a $3.95 monthly dormancy fee after 93 days if there's a balance left over. You came to a baseball game, not a banking product. Charging fans a fee to hold their own money is extractive and wrong, and MLB should prohibit it league-wide.
